Like I mentioned last month that my girlfriend and I will be traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico in August. We actually returned two weeks ago and had a fantastic time.
Day 1- Wednesday night
We arrived around 9:30 PM local time. We booked an Airbnb apartment that was 5 min walk from the beach. We took a taxi to the place to get settled in. Once we found the place and settled in, we wanted to go and eat.
Lucky we found a place that was open 24 hours. All the other restaurants were closed at 11 pm. The place has great cheap food.

We took this picture because we found it funny that there were slot machines at the gates of the airport.

This was the best Mofongo I have ever had.
Day 2 – Thursday
Thursday, we spent the whole day in Old San Juan. This place is full of history. I love how all the buildings were different colors.
Some of the sights we stop to admire were:
San Felipe del Morro Fortress, Paseo de la Princesa, Puerta De San Juan, Castillo de San Cristóbal, Plaza de Colón, Garita del Diablo, and Catedral de San Juan Bautista.
Here are some pictures from that day.
Day 3 – Friday
This day we did a guided tour of El Yunque National Forest. WOW, this rainforest is so beautiful. We did a hiking tour and omg this tour beat our butt. We both were full of sweat and super tired at the end. This was not a normal hiking tour. This tour was more for the adventures. Since my girlfriend and are both up for a challenge, we decided to book it. It was worth every penny. We saw three waterfalls and got to jump in all three of them. We also got to slide on the rocks. That was dangerous but really fun.
After the tour guide dropped us off at our Airbnb around 6 pm, We showered and passed out. The next morning we couldn’t stop talking about the hike and how amazing it was.
Day 4 – Saturday
Saturday was more a chill day. We went to the beach and relaxed for a few hours.
After the beach, we both wanted more sea food, and we went to a great restaurant that was walking distance from our Airbnb.
Since we had some time to kill, my girlfriend came up with a great idea to hit up the Bacardi Distillery. We did a drinking tour and got very tipsy. Lucky we used Uber for the whole trip and was able to get back to the apartment in one piece. I found the tour to be expensive, but we did have a great time.
After taking a nap we hit up the night at old San Juan for some dancing!!
Day 5 – Sunday
Sunday was our last day in Puerto Rico. We went to this place that a friend of mine recommended and it was super cheap and amazing.
We also got to meet some local people that are now friends! They were great. We talked about our experience and what we ate. They recommended a few other spots and to give them a call whenever we get back. They were great people.
Overall our trip to Puerto Rico was a huge success. We really had a great time and we definitely recommend it for you to check it out sometime.
We want to go again, but not anytime me soon. In Puerto Rico, there is so much to do and explore. We want to see and explore other countries first.
